Three killed in ‘special car’ crash

SABAK BERNAM: Two siblings and a friend travelling in a car died on the spot after a collision with a 12-tonne lorry at Km60 Jalan Teluk Intan-Klang in Sungai Panjang.

All three victims were travelling in a Peugeot 206.

They were identified as driver Zainuddin Zainal Abidin, 24; his sister CT Zubaidah, 22, and their friend Izura Yusuf, 22.

According to a friend, CT Zubaidah was said to have loved the car as it carried her initials in its registration number — CT 206.

She had been eager to go back to their village in Sitiawan in that car.

The car, which was heading from Sekinchan to Sungai Besar, was believed to have skidded and swerved into the opposite direction, going head-on with a lorry just after a downpour, said Sabak Bernam OCPD Supt Noor Mushair Mohamad.

The lorry driver, 38, had apparently noticed the car swerving into his lane but was unable to brake on time as the distance was too short.
